With the aim to make students aware of the waste management and to provide a hands-on experience about bin composting, Nepalese Youth for Climate Action (NYCA) organized three training days. They successfully trained 119 students on proper waste management techniques through bin segregation and composting under the “creating a waste Café”.
The students from grade 4 to 10 of Bright Future H.S. School , Koseli Foundation and Universal school were first given the insights about the waste and its impacts on the environment as well as the health of the people. Then a demonstration was given on how to use a home compost bin and generate a good manure. The students wanted to give a demonstration by themselves in order to prove their understanding and it was very appreciable that they promised to practices this method in their homes as well.
NYCA handover the compost bins to the respective schools in order to utilize the waste from the school canteen .
