World Wetland Day 2017

World Wetlands Day is celebrated every year on 2nd February, marking the date in 1971 when the Convention on Wetlands, known as the Ramsar Convention for protection of wetlands. The international theme for World Wetlands Day 2017 is Wetlands for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR).So far, 169 countries are parties to the Ramsar Convention, committing to conseImage may contain: 9 people, indoorrve over 2,000 wetlands of international importance around the world. Nepal has party to the Convention since 1987.

NYCA celebrated this day awaring the students of Grade 9 and 10 of Sahid Dharma Bhakta School (Nakkhu) on importance   of wetlands and the present status of wetland’s of Nepal along with the things they can do from their sides to protect our biodiverstically rich wetlands.
