WORLD METEOROLOGICAL DAY MARCH 23, 2020

We need meteorological data to fight with the disease as bacteria and viruses survival and transmission depends on temperature and other weather phenomena. And these datas are provided by Meteorological stations.

Today on World Meteorological Day, we acknowledge the importance of meteorological datas and it’s importance on our daily lives. The day also highlights the contribution that National Meteorological and Hydrological Services make to the safety and well-being of society.

The theme of #WMD2020 is climate and water. let’s make the best optimum use of water and put water at the heart of climate action plans.

Things you can do to stay safe from #COVID 19 with water and other measures

Do’s
》wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
》always wash your hands when you get home or into work
》use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
》cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
》put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands afterwards
》avoid close contact with people who have symptoms of corona-virus
》only travel on public transport if you need to
》use phone, online services, or apps to contact your GP surgery or other NHS services

WORLD WATER DAY MARCH 22,2020

World Water Day 2020, on 22 March, is about water and climate change.💦 Adapting to the water effects of climate change will protect health and save lives.

Hand hygiene is essential to containing the spread of COVID-19 and many other infectious diseases. This World Water Day, and any other day, please remember to wash your hands regularly with water and soap or alcohol-based hand rub.🚰

We must balance all of society’s water needs while ensuring the poorest people don’t get left behind. Everyone has a role to play. In our daily lives, there are surprisingly easy steps we can all take to address climate change.

INTERNATIONAL FOREST DAY

On International Day of Forest, 2020 we celebrate the importance of Forest and commit to invest ourselves in preserving our foundation of life. Through this video, we highlight the importance of Forest, Nepal’s good practices, our works so far and steps we can take to preserve our forest.

Forest and biodiversity affects us in ways we do not realise. The Corona virus diseases is believed to have originated from animals (researchers are looking at bats or pangolin). Biodiversity relates to almost every aspect of Nepalese life including agricultural productivity, food security, climate, aesthetic value etc.

The death of the forest is the end of our life. The forest calls each and everyone of us to commit and work to preserve it.

Standing on 20th week of #ClimateAwareness at Thapathali today.

#ClimateEmergency is a grave public health crisis. The WHO estimates that 7 million people world wide are killed because of air pollution. Million more is at danger due to accelerated change in climate. Both, climate change and corona affects the most vulnerable first and worst.

The awareness, pressure and collective action is still needed.

During this time, amid corona virus outbreak, we will go for digital Awareness from next week.🙂

On International Women’s Day👩‍✈️👩‍🌾👩, we salute the women of the world🌍, who are leading fabulous works and contributing to pull the world in the track of peace, justice and sustainability.
No doubt, it is not easy as men👦 for women 👧 to work for society and invest their significant portion of time in it. Despite several hurdles from social and economic aspect, the leadership shown by women is wonderful👌
Everyday is Women’s Day and for all of us, today is the day of Celebration.

Today on March 03, 2020 on this World Wildlife Day under the theme “Sustaining All Life on Earth” we celebrate wild flora and fauna as essential components of our world’s biodiversity and we must commit to protect the rich diversity of wildlife species, ecosystem and ecosystem services.

Business as usual has brought one million species to the brink of extinction. As we strive to build bright future let us not forget that this future cannot come at the cost of the lost of our planets well being. We must balance our own needs with those of the wildlife, habitats and ecosystem that surround us.

Let us be aware of our own dependence on biodiversity and the negative impact of our actions on it.
